Introduction

The MuLogic SDSL-2204 is a DSLAM compatible G.SHDSL.bis modem-router with 4-port 10/100baseT Auto-MDI/MDIX Ethernet switch.

The modem offers symmetric data rates up to 22.76 Mbit/s over multiple pairs of copper wire and supports both EFM bonding and ATM M-pair bonding.

Depending on the amount of wire pairs in service, the data rates can be 5.69, 11.38, 17.07
or 22.76Mbit/s. In EFM mode, different pairs are allowed to operate at different link speeds.

Application Areas

Point-to-point applications
The SDSL-2204 can be used for extending Ethernet communications over long copper cables at high data rates. When multiple copper pairs are available, the reach can be up to 8 km for the lower data rates, or 2.9 km at the highest rates.

DSLAM access
For high speed network or internet access the SDSL-2204 can connect with a compatible DSLAM that supports EFM or ATM m-pair bonding.
The unit is also compatible with G.SHDSL DSLAMs for symmetric data rates up to
2.304 kbit/s.


Configuration and access control
The SDSL-2204 can be controlled and configured in multiple ways:
  • serial command port for CLI interface.
  • Web based GUI via Web browser.
  • Telnet
  • SNMP (RFC 1213, RFC 1573)

Access restrictions can be set for both Telnet and HTTP access on both local LAN port or access via the DSL network.

Power supply
The unit is powered by means of an external power adapter for 100-240Vac operation. Other supply voltages are available on request.
